Transition and support in Supported Independent Living
Experience:
Experience working with a range of young people that are struggling to fit vinto social norms, from trauma backgrounds and experiencing challenges connected to their disability. Across youth mentoring initiatives, childcare services and in the criminal justice system. Through this I have brought a holistic lens that views challenging behaviours as a reflection of the broader social, emotional, and historical contexts that shape our actions.
What I love about my work:
In my role I am continually learning from others, I love to hear personal experiences and to find ways to tailor my responses appropriately. I enjoy bridging the gap between the complexities of the NDIS, personal circumstances and community services. I use my role to advocate for my clients as much as possible and strive for more equitable opportunities for everyone.
