Dietetics

What is Dietetics?

A dietitian is a qualified health professional specialising in food and nutrition. They provide evidence-based, personalised advice to support individuals and families in achieving their health and dietary goals.

Dietitians assist with meal planning, developing strategies to increase food variety for a more balanced diet, and managing medical conditions through tailored dietary strategies.

They play a key role in supporting people with disabilities, addressing restricted eating, texture-modified diets, and specialised nutrition needs. Dietitians work closely with families, helping to make mealtimes easier, monitor growth, and foster a positive relationship with food. Additionally, they provide education and guidance, empowering people to make informed nutrition choices for themselves and their families.
